That meaning comes from your beliefs and perceptions.
If you are passionate about being an intentional creator of your reality — you must know the most fundamental root causes of your reality — your beliefs and perceptions.
In this entry, I hope you will get a sense for how you are actually creating your reality with the meaning you assign to experience, your beliefs and perceptions — and not actually with your actions.
Beliefs and perceptions, are the code and filters that create your reality. And I don’t mean, just because these things influence your emotions and your behaviors (which are downstream), BUT also because your external reality is an external fractoholographic reflection of your internal reality. This is why you can shift something internally, and it will immediately shift something in the external world without so much as doing anything physical or taking action towards it — it’s because the external reality will reorganize to match as reflection of the internal structures; and you may call it things like “coincidence”, “synchronicity”, “opportunity”, or possibly “luck”. But nothing is random… it’s feedback.

Subtle Distinction between Beliefs and Perceptions
Beliefs are assumptions we accept as TRUE about how the world works, how people are, and who we are.
Let me just be very clear — beliefs are not facts; that’s not really how this quantum reality actually works… more on this in future posts.
Beliefs are thoughts that you consider AS YOUR TRUTH of your world (as you experience it) that became automatic, as you repeat them over and over.
So, a belief is essentially a repeated thought about YOUR TRUTH of reality, that becomes a rule, a code, for your subconscious. Over time, the brain stops questioning it and starts filtering reality through it… more on this in future posts, specifically The Reticular Activation System, how it filters for evidence that supports your belief system.
Beliefs are what we believe to be TRUE about reality — it’s OUR INTERPRETATION of our experience of reality. It’s the LABEL that we place on reality.
These beliefs, as we label reality over and over, become how we perceive reality — our general interpretation of reality based on those beliefs — aka. our Perceptions.
Perceptions are the Meaning We Construct
Beliefs shape our perception.
Beliefs are the expectations we create about reality, based on what we choose to allow for our truth of reality to be.
These expectations or labels applied on reality over and over create:
- a generalized viewpoint, or perception of reality
- an assignment of meaning over events
Beliefs determine what you focus on, what you see, what you notice — it’s a way to select for reality based on a certain set of truths you hold.
Perception determine what those things mean to you over time, as you label events automatically in the same way over and over again.
Here is a very simple example:
Friend cancels dinner.
Person A Belief:
People don’t value me
→ Perception: They canceled because I’m not important
→ Meaning: I am not important
→ Emotion: Hurt
→ Behavior: Withdraw
→ Result: Relationship distance
→ Reinforces belief
Person B Belief:
People are busy and life happens
→ Perception: Something probably came up
→ Meaning: Not personal
→ Emotion: Neutral
→ Behavior: Reschedule
→ Result: Relationship continues
→ Reinforces belief
Same event → Completely different reality
Beliefs decide what we notice.
Perception decides what we think it means.

Beliefs — Perceptions — and the Subconscious
So you see, you are not creating reality with your actions — you are creating reality with the meanings you assign to things… to say the least.
That means that you have control over your reality at the level of your beliefs and perceptions.
Reality follows perception, and perception follows belief.
The subconscious does not create what you want.
It creates what makes sense based on your perceptions.
There are many ways to evaluate your beliefs and perceptions; but here are three questions you can use and be self-aware of throughout the day, to help you notice your internal structures at work:
What does your subconscious believe this situation MEANS? (what do you feel-what emotions do you experience, how are you reacting, what decisions are you making, how do you act/behave like when something happens, what do you get triggered by?)
What perception is making this reality logical for your subconscious to maintain? (what is the driver or the meaning that you give to reality? to people? to yourself? how is this working in your favor? how it serving you?)
What beliefs must you hold (or you notice you hold) for your perception of how the world works, how people are, or how you are to hold TRUE?
This is the ultimate loop of experience:
Beliefs are the filters.
Perception is what you see through the filters.
Meaning is the story you create about what you see.
Emotion is your reaction to the story.
Behavior is your response to the emotion.
Results reinforce the original belief.
Notice what’s upstream and what’s downstream.
Notice where you have control over your own co-creation efficiently and where it’s going to take a lot more than willpower to shift your experience.
