Meditate to Change Your Life From the Inside Out — Training for Self-Transformation and Healing

Your Life Changes When Your Coherence Changes — That’s What Meditation Is For

Most people think meditation is about relaxing, calming down, or escaping stress, and that can be a very good reason for meditating— in fact, that was my starting point with meditation, a way to manage the stressors of life at crisis point in my life.

But that’s not the real reason we should be meditating, in my opinion.

Meditation is not an escape from life — it is TRAINING for a new life.

If done properly.

It is the process by which we change our mind, recondition our body, and become a different version of ourselves. When you understand meditation this way, it stops being something you occasionally do to feel better, and becomes something you practice to become someone new, and ultimately reflect / mirror a new set of reality.

Here’s what’s important to know, to understand about this process — and I hope this gives you a baseline of understanding on how Meditation can be a fundamental tool in self-transformation and healing. In this way, I also hope it inspires you to make Meditation a part of your daily life, ongoing, consistently, for the rest of your life.

In this article, I am going to cover the four most important reasons you have to know about with regards to why Meditation is incredibly important for living a good life.

1 — Brain Coherence

2 — Coherence and Healing

3 — Heart Coherence

4 — Building the Electromagnetic field

There are even MORE reasons — some of which I will discuss in other articles, because this topic is too large to cover in one article.

Meditation Helps Us Train in Brain Coherence

When I started meditating, this was one the most fundamental elements of Meditation that I learned that was incredibly important to living a better life — Brain Coherence.

I wrote an entire article about Brainwaves. I recommend you read that article, too, to get a more detailed sense of the different types of Brainwaves the brain can modulate.

Here, I’ll explain briefly.

Most people live their entire lives in high-beta brainwave states, the brain state of analyzing, reacting, stressing, planning, worrying, and focusing on the EXTERNAL world.

In that state, the brain is very incoherent — different parts of the brain are firing at different times, like an orchestra where every musician is playing a different song- and this continues every single day… which actually consumes a lot of energy.

The way to regulate coherence at the level of the brain — and therefore, also at the level of the body as a result, is to Meditate.

Meditation is the process of moving the brain out of this incoherent high-beta state and into more coherent alpha and theta states, where the brain begins to work in harmony.

And there is a specific method of doing this intentionally, something I will discuss in another post.

So again, briefly… Brainwave States and What They Mean

  • High Beta — Stress, survival, overthinking, reacting to the environment
  • Beta — Normal waking state, analytical thinking, problem solving
  • Alpha — Relaxed, creative, imagination, inward focus, gateway to subconscious
  • Theta — Deep meditation, programming the subconscious, dream state
  • Delta — Deep sleep, healing, regeneration

Meditation is really the practice of moving from Beta into Alpha and Theta on purpose. Meditation is literally intentionally training the brain to operate in order instead of chaos.

When you create coherence, you free up energy that was previously being captured in incoherence.

Coherence organizes energy, and organized energy become internal power that we’re then able to use strategically to live our life from a greater level of mind.

Coherence and Healing

The connection between coherence and healing has been developed in neuroscience, neuropsychoimmunology, stress physiology, and heart-brain research.

The body heals best when it is in order (coherence), not in stress. Stress consumes energy that the body requires for healing. And ORDER brings that energy back for purposeful use of the body — redistributes the resources the body needs to heal.

When the nervous system is constantly on alert, the body does not prioritize repair and healing. But when we meditate and create coherence in the brain and the heart — the nervous system shifts into a parasympathetic state — which is the state in which the body repairs tissues, regulates hormones, strengthens the immune system, restores balance and equilibrium. Coherence tells the body that it is safe enough to heal.

When we create coherence through meditation, we are not just calming down mentally — we are changing the internal environment of the body.

Using Meditation to Maintain Heart — Coherence

Training our attention on the heart during meditation is one of the most powerful things we can do because the heart plays a major role in regulating the brain, the nervous system, and the emotional state of the body.

In fact, the heart sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart through the vagus nerve and nervous system pathways.

Whereas the language of the brain is thoughts, the language of the body is emotions. Emotions are chemical signals that tells the body what state it is in.

Intentionally creating elevated emotions in meditation trains us not only to actually create emotional states by thought alone, but it creates a coherent body state on a regular basis.

When the brain and heart are both coherent and working together, the entire body system begins to move into a more balanced, regulated, and healthy state. This is why heart-focused meditation is often associated with emotional regulation, healing, clarity, creativity, and personal transformation.

Building the Electromagnetic Field of the Body

The brain and the body create an electromagnetic field. This is a measurable field around the body composed from the electrical activity of the brain and the heart, as well as the magnetic field of the heart.

In fact, the heart produces the largest component of the body’s electromagnetic field — its own electromagnetic field, much larger than the brain.

The electromagnetic field of the body has many roles related to our overall well-being as well as to the power of reality creation:

  • Since the body is not just chemical, but also electrical and electromagnetic, it is these energy fields that send information and organizes matter. A coherent and expanded electromagnetic field carries more coherent information and helps the body communicate with itself more effectively and efficiently. Better communication, better regulation, more energy, greater level of health.
  • A coherent electromagnetic field therefore creates an internal environment where the body can heal efficiently.

And as far as life creation matters, the Electromagnetic Field is the Unique Signature of who we are (“our energetic identity”)— to the Quantum Field, the unifying field of consciousness around us. It reflects our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, stress levels, and levels of coherence. And it is this electromagnetic field that ripples through the unifying field, changing information in the field, and as a result prompting to reorganize matter around us. (the science of quantum creation)

Suffice it to say, I think you get the point — Meditation is incredibly important in the way we want to create our lives. It offers us the pathway to change from within, in an intentional and effective way. It also trains us to be more conscious living spiritual beings with our eyes open.

And as far as meditation for a spiritual basis…. well that’s a whole another topic which I will write on in a different post.
